Starbucks Card Rewards Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I register my Starbucks Card?
You should register so you can take advantage of all the great benefits. You’ll get flavoured syrup and milk options for your beverage on the house and receive a complimentary Tall handcrafted beverage with your whole bean purchases. These are just some of the rewards you’ll get when you register your Starbucks Card. We might add new benefits over time, so if you sign up now, we’ll keep you up-to-date on all the benefits you get by using your registered Starbucks Card. You will continue to have the benefit of balance protection in the event that your card is lost, stolen or destroyed.

Why did Starbucks introduce Starbucks Card Rewards?
Why not! It’s just our way of saying thanks for being a loyal Starbucks Card user. If we can enhance your Starbucks experience with these great benefits then we’re doing our job right.

Why does Starbucks require registration to receive Starbucks Card Rewards benefits?
By registering your Card, we learn more about how you visit our stores, and can better understand what you want from us. Registering also helps protect your Card balance, and if you choose, allows you to receive more news about Starbucks Card Rewards and other exciting offers.

Do the Starbucks Card Rewards benefits expire?
The benefits that were introduced in April 2009 do not currently have an expiration date, but we may change them over time.

Are all Starbucks Cards eligible for Starbucks Card Rewards benefits?
All UK and Ireland registered Starbucks Cards are eligible.

Why do I have to use an active Card to receive the Starbucks Card Rewards benefits?
Since the goal of the promotion is to thank and reward Starbucks Card users, you must make at least part of your payment with a Starbucks Card.

Are all stores participating in Starbucks Card Rewards?
Most UK and Ireland stores are participating. Since Licensed Stores don’t share the same system as company-operated stores, they cannot offer Card Rewards.

Is this a U.K. promotion only?
No. Most stores in both UK and Ireland are participating.

What other modifiers are excluded from Starbucks Card Rewards?
Exclusions include sauces, such as caramel drizzle and mocha syrup, and promotion beverages that are only available for a limited time such as Dark Berry Mocha Frappuccino® Blended Beverage.

What else can you do with a registered Card?
You can check the balance of your registered Starbucks Card online without retyping your Card information. And, you can top up and protect your balance.

Registration on www.starbucks.co.uk is available only for Starbucks Cards purchased in the UK. A valid UK address is required.

Okay, so how do I register my Starbucks Card?
It's easy to register - just visit the Starbucks Card. You'll need the Card number and the PIN number under the scratch of section printed on the back of the Card, for registration.

What should I do if my Starbucks Card is lost or stolen?
Please call our Starbucks Card Customer Care line 0845 270 3310 from the UK and 1890 931 970 from Ireland.  If the Card is registered, we'll freeze your remaining balance at the time we receive your request, transfer it to a new Starbucks Card and mail you the replacement Card immediately - without hassles or fees.

Where can I use my Starbucks Card?
Your Starbucks Card is accepted at most Starbucks locations in the UK and Ireland in select countries internationally. Most stores in Australia, Hong Kong, Canada and the U.S. can accept the Starbucks Card. Please note that Starbucks Cards issued in Japan or Spain may only be used in the countries in which they are issued. We will continue to expand the global Starbucks Card programme so please check back periodically.


How do I check the balance on my Starbucks Card?
Visit the Starbucks Card section. If you have questions about the balance on your Starbucks Card, call 0845 270 3310 from the UK and 0845 270 3310 from Ireland and speak to a customer service representative.


Can I reuse my Starbucks Card?
Yes, Starbucks Cards are reusable. At any time, you can reload your Starbucks Card with additional cash value in our stores or online.

How can I transfer the balance from my old Starbucks Card to a new Starbucks Card?
Starbucks Cards balances can be loaded onto another Card by calling our Starbucks Card Customer Care team on 0845 270 3310 from the UK and 1890 931 970 from Ireland.  

How do I reload my Starbucks Card?
To reload your UK or Ireland Starbucks card visit your local store or our online top-up your card page.

How does Starbucks protect my privacy after I register my Starbucks Card?
Under the Starbucks.com privacy statement, Starbucks will not give your name to other companies without your permission. Also, you control whether or not you receive information about special promotions and events from Starbucks.
