Starbucks and the National Literacy Trust

Starbucks supports young people. One of the ways we do this is through our partnership with the National Literacy Trust.
Literacy is a significant determinant of whether people realise their potential, and we are committed to working with young people to help them achieve all they can.
Our partnership with the National Literacy Trust is focused around the National Young Readers programme. Disadvantaged children are supported to visit libraries and discover reading for enjoyment. Whether you are interested in reading about pink fairies or becoming a spaceman, the expert librarian will find the right book at the right reading level. Each child visits the library three times in one term, and each time they can choose a book to take home and keep.
In 2012 we will also support Words for Work, which supports young people to become work ready through learning about communication and team work. Our partners also undertaken fund-raising activity for the National Literacy Trust - anything from cake bakes to parachute jumps.
